6 Core Principals of Naturopathic Medicine:

Do No Harm: Use the least force necessary to diagnose and treat.

Healing Power Of Nature: Promote the body’s inherent self-healing process.

Identify & Treat the Cause: Treat and remove underlying causes of illness rather than just eliminating the symptoms.

Proper nutrition is essential to ensure a well-functioning brain, to complete the biologic repair of damaged or malfunctioning body systems, and to establish optimal wellness. The problem is that many people don’t know what the proper nutrition for their body is or don’t have the necessary skills to execute their nutritional plans.

With the guidance of our naturopathic doctor and certified nutrition specialist, patients will undergo a series of sensitivity testing, nutritional counseling sessions, and education on restoring health with nutrition.

Herbal/botanical Medicine:
Herbal medicines

Herbal Medicine is the practice of using herbs to promote health and prevent and treat illness. Herbal medicine has been around for centuries and has developed throughout many cultures.

Herbs taken orally on a consistent basis are, in most cases, well suited for treating chronic health issues. Herbs can be administered in teas, capsules or liquid tinctures, via oils within the herbs or the peel, or in ointments and salves. Your treatment plan may include a specific blend of herbs to target your health issues.

Homeopathy is a safe and natural form of medicine. Homeopathy is based on the philosophies that “like cures like” meaning a disease can be cured by a substance the produces similar symptoms in healthy people, and “law of minimum dose” meaning the lower the dose of medication the more effective it is.

When appropriate our Naturopathic Doctor will use homeopathic remedies to stimulate the self-healing mechanisms in your body.

Hydrotherapy is the therapeutic use of water. Hydrotherapy is applied in a variety of ways and at various temperatures to promote healing. In conjunction with other therapies, our naturopathic doctor may use hydrotherapy to soothe or stimulate certain systems in your body. Common hydrotherapy treatments include but are not limited to; peat baths, warm 20-minute soaks with pain-relieving minerals, and alternating hot & cold treatments for muscle recovery.

Through counseling, our naturopathic doctor is trained to empower you to make lifestyle changes in order to achieve optimal health. Our doctors will give you one on one focused attention to educate, support, empower, and guide you through these lifestyle changes.

Chiropractic Care:

Chiropractic treatment is a holistic approach to overall health that allows the body to heal itself of illness, injury and environmental and emotional stresses. This treatment works by making chiropractic adjustments, or corrections, to the nervous system.

Acupuncture has long been recognized as an effective treatment for chronic pain and other illnesses. There is nothing magical about acupuncture. Like other naturopathic treatments, Acupuncture works by activating the body’s own self-healing mechanisms. In 2012, a study found that acupuncture was effective for the treatment of back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, chronic headache, and shoulder pain.

In light of the nationwide opioid crisis, more patients are turning to acupuncture and naturopathy as a drug free alternative to traditional pain management.
